And nailed to the sides of the wooden privy, two signs in all-black capital letters: “OBAMA PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY.”

There are many photos floating around the Internet of the same joke — an outhouse labeled as Obama’s library. Somehow, Glory had hoped her community wouldn’t stand for that.“We are supposed to be celebrating independence but people are quick to forget about 300 years of history,” she said.
“My daughter keeps asking me, ‘Why?’ and I don’t have an answer for her. We made this place our home, but right now it doesn’t feel like it. It’s shameful.”
So sad. Assholes don’t care who they hurt.

Hmmm, me thinks someone needs to come up with a good liberal “satire” float and enter it next year.
Not that I don’t think liberals do some ugly things, but I am curious to see if these same conservatives who are saying this is free speech, and they also welcome Liberal floats, would feel the same way once it actually happened?

As a Nebraskan let me just be honest, while we tend to be friendly to people individually get a group of small town rednecks together and they can be as vicious as anybody. Many days I am ashamed at the ignorance that comes out of my neighbors mouths.

Some would, some wouldn’t.
But here’s the thing - many of those who wouldn’t, think that Bush and Obama are not equal. So it is possible to differentiate between mocking of good/bad without necessarily being a hypocrite (it’s called “being political”).

Hah. Well, yesterday involved a sewage line shattering over the eShop. Specifically, over a stack of 32” Bally monitors… AT 9:50, just in time for me to shout it to T and L and run out the door. (They’re fine. Thank $Deity for cardboard boxes.)
Today involved us trying to get the pit to realize that if you put cards in upside down, certain devices are SUPPOSED to show red lights and do not need replacing and overhauling every single time they do it…
Annoyingly the auction I woke up to ensure I won I’m losing — no replacement Drosera obovata ‘Ivan’s Paddle’ for me, unless I want to spend more than I want on it. Maybe next time.
It’s outrageously hot and I need to do something for my grow rack. I’m going to get one of those 20” box fans and put it under it pointing straight up, see if that helps.
